Yes the L series can tollerate it.
You’ll need to change the oil more often, and its use in the depths of winter will be limited. As veggie oil currently costs more than diesel it isn’t worth doing unless you want to on the principals of being “green”. It isn’t recommended to run more than 50% veg oil in an unmodified system. If you modify it you can run 100% veg if you run a twin tank system with a fuel heater to warm the veg oil up so that it flows as well as normal diesel.
