injectors Question

Hello,

I'm French, excuse me for my English!
I put in my 45 SDI injectors, but the driver swich the cable has broken!
So I would put the nozzle in the SDI of 45:
DSLA 145 P 446 instead of 145 DSLA P 870, I know it can be changed easily.
My question is: is it fair exchange nozzles or internal calibration of injectors is different?

thank you very much ;)

Bonjour Pascal,

The two injectors are adjusted different internally (the Di has a primary injection pressure of 200 bar, the 45 is 210 bar).

If you fit the 446 nozzles to your original (45) injectors, that will give the best combination of power and smoke.

You can mix and match the injectors but then you must have them adjusted (calibrated) together. For the 45 the primary injection pressure should be 210 bar for your car.

Ideally you should have the injectors checked and adjusted after swapping the nozzles but most people will just drive it and see what they feel like.

HI

To change the opening pressure I must also changes both internal to the injector washers! Different between SDI and the origins of those 45!

The washers are shims which are used to set the opening pressure of the injector. Use the 45 ones with the injector they came out of (as you shouldn't really mix injector parts up as all injectors are slightly different and the shims are used to make the opening pressure the same in them all).

thank you
I will agree to keep the three SDI injectors
as they are, and change the nozzle washers and driver for the proper pressure on all four cylinders!
right?
