As far as I know mark is still in business. If you get stuck then let me know an address/number and I'll get him to contact you.

The bushes he supplies can help but also check that it isn't a worn universal joint or a worn spring pin as both of these are common too.

spring is ok, arm has some play, price i got for arm is £260!!
think i will leave it alone, if i had a spare one i would take it apart and fit new nylon washers & reasemble with bolts but i wonder if that would work somone would have tried that fix by now rather than go to all the trouble of welding a steering joint on the end?
the rubber thing on the gearbox end of the arm has perished so i ordered one from a rover specialist i discovered near me.
i intend to glue it into the gearbox end and grease the shaft to limit the amount of potential oil leakage as the proper fix requires the box out as the o ring or sesal has to be accesed from inside the box.

Eh?

Gear selector oil seal can be replaced with the box in position I think. I think it is a simple tap in seal like the diff ones.

There is a universal joint linkage repair kit from motobuild which is some top hat bushes and some bolts to replace the original pin and bushes.

I weld on a universal joint though as it eliminated all of the issues at once and makes things a lot better.

yes you are quite rite, the seal just pushes in, mine was hidden in the shaft gator so i just thought it was part of it, seems like its just a plastic thing that pushes in then the gator fits over it.
