i'm the happy owner of a MG ZS Mk1 2.0 td (yr 2004).
i bought this car 3 years ago and I really love it!

i was looking for some tips on internet and i found this site :D , well done and very instructive for L-series!
and naturally I joined the family!

step by step i'm gonna try to get the better of my car!

Plenty of ways to make it nicer and faster.

Take a look at the basic tuning guide for 25/45/zr/zs.

150bhp is relatively cheap to achieve and the ZS has a capable chassis.

Ahh. Unfortunatly I'm guessing you missed the pro-logue on the products page

http://www.roverdiesel.co.uk/index.php/products
Products

DonnyDiesel aka Mark developed a wide range of performance parts for rover diesels. Unfortunatly he has moved onto other cars and so these are no longer available from Mark I believe. However I'll leave the links and pictures up here for information and reference.
These products aren't available anymore from Mark, but I've left the page up to give people ideas. Other companies do some products though if you are after something specific.

What are you after?

oh sh!t , I haven't seen the prologue

i'm looking for the turbo outlet pipe.
i found it at dark ice designs but more expensive ( without hose reduction and clamps) than it was here

do you know other suppliers?

thx,
Nico

Being blunt the turbo outlet pipe doesn't make a lot of difference. It looks pretty, and it won't hurt, but it doesn't make a huge power difference.

Some people have uncrushed their original pipes using various means to get a better shape. You could even use flexible exhaust pipe instead if you wanted to replace it totally.

Mine is still crushed though!

It all depends on what mods you have as to what is the next best "bang-for-your-buck" mod.

The best usual mods for the 25/zr/zs/45 are injectors from a 200/400/600 di, up the boost to 19psi, and a decat and performance backbox.
That little lot will give you 140 -ish bhp, maybe a few more.
Then to top that lot off a remap which should see 150 ish bhp.

Above that you are really needing a bigger turbo.
You can fit a FMIC but it doesn't give you a lot more power and its a bit of a mission if you aren't using a dual pass intercooler getting the pipework to fit.

ok thx,

i've already removed the EGR
this week I'm going to fit a decat pipe.
i'm waiting the delivery of SDi injectors from Dark ice design.
boost to 19psi will be done when injectors fitted.

after that, maybe i'will send my ecu to DID.
they are working with reidy remap... do u know?

I'm not sure to be honest. They'll upload a fairly generic remap to your ECU (thats all you can do without seeing the customers car). I'm not sure if it was a reidy one or not. I've not heard any horror stories though.

For my ECU stuff I'll use Dakta from mg-rover.org as I regard him as a friend. I've done work on his car and he's helped me out with my camper too).

I don't have a mappable ECU though, I' need to swap chips inside the ECU rather than plug a laptop into it!
