PG1 LSD?

Post by nicko500s »

my gearbox still wont stay in reverse but more of a concern is that the recently new clutch is slipping again, last time this happened it was leaking oil from the main shaft i think so it looks like i need to get a low milage U spec box and get it checked while having caged bearings fitted, the other thing is im planning on getting the duel map but it already spins its n/s/f wheel in the wet in 4th gear some times, i read somewhere the one of the lotuses used the pg1 box and had an lsd? can this be fitted to the diesel box? and if so is it a good idea or would it have drawbacks? has anyone done this?

Yes you can retrofit a torsen or other limited slip differential to the PG1 gearbox.

There are two types fitted to rovers (torsen). Type A are more fragile and so probably better avoided. The type B ones are a possible option.
