ears 1,, 420sdi
had reported on rubbing/grinding /sraping noise coming from o/s front wheel
on jacking the front off side of the car removing wheel & driving it was very loud ,had mate refit wheel
and test for play in drive shaft/ cv joint & wheel bearing all test ok
now this is what i did next
wheel still in the air started car got it up to 30mph with noise still there and then swiched off engine with it still in gear & running
lowed car back on ground rang scrap yard for bits and set off
NOISE HAD GONE????
got to scrapers got new wheel hub and :?: set off home
noise has not come back in 60 miles
?????????????????????????????????


ps car has stood for about 12months & yes we checked the brakes :?:

Something stuck in the brakes or general corrosion on them is the most likely cause.
