Rover Diesel

it must be a faulty seal on the rack as did post a few weeks ago about a boot being split & fluid leaking which i have kept an eye on but i am having to top up once a week, also when stood for a few days steering giving a little grown when frist started up so i say out with the rack as no leaks ...

any one know if a rover 400 diesel engine will go into a old petrol freelander as fance a new project for this great weather, and the missis likes the bloody things.
Being a landrover nut as well i love to get my hands on 1,,

keeping a eye on the fluid level
top up the other day & seems to be ok so far

only took it apart as i had a spare 1 & a hour to kill
but was unable to remove the end with the brushes as some one had mashed up the screws

removing rack as fluid leaking from split gater on near side quite a bad leak

any tip for removing & replaceing a rack on 400 sdi, looked in haynes manual & it seemed a bit drawn out
is there a quicker way

but do you know how to get the starter motor back into it's housing without the brushes
closing & stopping the motor it's self from going into position ??

wot about air intake pipe or turbo to intercooler pipe
mine was crushed at the top of intercooler just above rad

anybody know anything about front drivers side electric window going very slow up&down on 420sdi,,another trip to the srappers ? also will any fit ie- 200/25/45/600
